WHAT IS TOG COUNT?
The tog is a measure of thermal resistance; The Shirley Institute in Britain developed the tog as an easy-to-follow alternative to the SI unit of m2K/W.
Launched in the 1960s, the Shirley Togmeter is the standard apparatus for rating thermal resistance of textiles, commonly known as the Tog Test.
A tog is 0.1 m2K/W. In other words, the thermal resistance in togs is equal to ten times the temperature difference (in °C) between the two surfaces of a material, when the flow of heat is equal to one watt per square metre.
Tog guidelines for duvets are as follows:
- Lightweight summer duvet: 4.5 tog
- Spring/Autumn weight duvet: 9.0 – 10.5 tog
- Winter weight duvet: 12.0 – 13.5 tog
WHAT IS MICROFIBRE?
Microfiber is a term that refers to relatively new materials that consist of synthetic fibers that are much finer than natural fabrics.
Microfiber was first introduced in the 1980s is made of synthetics, such as polyester. Its low denier, from 0.96 to 0.5, means that a microfiber material is very light in weight.
DUVET INNER FILLING
The Fiber used for Duvet Inner is 0.9 Denier Solid siliconized Microfiber. 0.9D is the softest and warmest fiber.
The weight of the Filling of Duvet Inners 300gsm.
PILLOW INNER FILLING
The Weight of Standard 45×70 Pillows are 1 000g and King 50×90 Pillows are 1 200gm.
The Fiber used in Pillow Inners is 3D spiral siliconized Microfiber. 3D spiral siliconized fiber is soft and bulky.
